Josh Schwartz (GRHS '00), a two-sport varsity standout for the Gators and holder of several Gator Baseball records, has been selected by the Hot Stovers baseball organization for induction into the South Jersey Baseball Hall of Fame on November 26. The hall of fame is housed at Campbell's Field, home of the Camden Riversharks baseball club.
Schwartz was a four-year varsity starter for the Gators from 1997-2000 as a pitcher and centerfielder. During his time at Gateway, he won a South Jersey Group II championship (1999) and back-to-back Colonial Conference titles (1999 and 2000). He still holds the school record for strikeouts, wins, and innings pitched in a season as well as career wins.
At Rowan University, Schwartz set an NCAA record by winning 37 consecutive games. He was named to the All-Decade Team by D3Baseball.com.
Schwartz continues his involvement in baseball. He is currently the pitching coach at Gloucester County College.
